Marcille Robinson

Marcille Robinson, age 97, passed from her earthly life in Baytown, Texas on August 16, 2021 to her eternal home with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was born in Unity in Henderson County on March 11, 1924 to Burl and Kate Hodges. She attended schools in Murchison and Athens. Marcille married W. T. Robinson on December 12, 1942. They were married almost 25 years before he passed away in 1967. Her faith, her family and her home were always her main focus in life. She is the mother of three sons and one daughter, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of fourteen and her first great-great-grandchild is due in November. Her children and grandchildren grew up knowing she loved them dearly and all held a deep respect for her. She was a strong willed and very determined woman with many talents and interests. She was an accomplished seamstress and later worked many years as secretary of First Baptist Church Jacksboro. She spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren play sports and her love for sports continued throughout her life. She was a huge Astros fan and even had a World Series brick gifted to her that said “#1 Fan and Grandma”. If she couldn’t get the game on the television she was happy to listen to it on the radio. She loved the Dallas Cowboys as well, especially during the Tom Landry era. She was an avid reader. She read the Bible cover to cover several times and read hundreds of books from Sterling Municipal Library. She was a wonderful cook and knew everyone’s favorite dish. After her retirement, she moved to the Baytown area to live with her daughter’s family. The last two years of her life were made more difficult with the isolation during COVID. She passed away peacefully at Focus Care at Burnett Bay. We would like to thank caretakers Beatrice and JoAnn who became part of our family as they lovingly cared for our mother. Thank you for the caretakers at Focused Care for working so hard to keep the nursing home safe during the pandemic. Marcille is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Dennis and Harvey Hodges, daughters-in-law Carolyn Robinson and Jane Robinson. She is survived by sons Joe Robinson of Houston, Gary Robinson of Jacksboro, Mike Robinson and wife Marsha of Jacksboro, daughter Judy Sain and husband Terry of Baytown. She is survived by grandchildren Delene Robinson and husband Scott Atkinson of Round Rock, Jennifer Joiner and husband Brent of Houston, Kara Robinson of Port Orchard, WA, Lauren Schafer and husband Dylan of Gunter, Jace Robinson of Sherman. Cristi Lockett and husband Chris of Coppell, Greg Robinson and wife Cherlyn of Jacksboro, Whitney Alexander and husband Jassen of Frisco, Cody Sain and wife Maureen of Houston. Surviving great-grandchildren are Briana Kellagher and husband B.J. of Houston, Brooke Robinson of Houston, Allie and Will Robinson of Jacksboro, Jake, Elyson and Will Schafer of Gunter, Laine and Laurel Lockett of Coppell, Gregory, Gabriel, Stephen, Samuel, and Billy Sain of Houston, and Sebastian Alexander of Frisco. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 21, at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, Texas at 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. Chuck Gartman of Brownwood, TX will be the minister for the service. Services will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend.
