Floyd Easter

Ernest Floyd Easter of Jacksboro, Texas passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Jacksboro, Texas. He was 84 years old. Floyd was born on August 10, 1939, in Jacksboro, Texas, to Ernest and Opal (Kinnard) Easter. A visitation will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Jack County Youth Fair Barn in Jacksboro. Burial will follow at Winn Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Coker Funeral Home. Floyd graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1957. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education from Texas Tech University. While attending college, Floyd married the love of his life, Ora Frances Fredenburg, on September 10, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas. Floyd was a loving husband, father, brother, and “Granddad”. He never met a stranger and took the time to get to know everyone he met. He was passionate about children and agriculture, teaching Agriculture Education for 18 years, he poured into the lives of countless students. Upon retirement from teaching, Floyd served as the Treasurer of Jack County for 12 years. He continued his love for children, driving a bus daily for Jacksboro ISD. He was a faithful member of the Jacksboro Church of Christ, serving as a Deacon for 20+ years, and was very active in the Jack County community. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Donald, Billy Wayne, and Tommy Carl Easter; sisters, Betty Graybill, Nina Catlin, and Annie Daves; and grandchildren, Jessica Rogers and Michael Williams. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Frances Easter; sons, Benton Easter and wife Rhonda of Archer City and Garland Easter and wife Vicky of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Kara Hutton and husband Josh, Kent Easter and wife Emilee, Brandi Clark, and husband Chris and Coalby Graham, and fiancé Laura; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Tucker and Tripp Hutton, Bruin and Bentlee Easter and Chandler Clark; brothers, Clinton Easter, James Easter, and wife Laverne, and Joe Easter and wife Sara; sister Charlotte Williams and husband Tommy; along with many extended family members and numerous friends.
