Martha Movelda Cross Gee Ramsey

Martha Movelda Cross Gee Ramsey, known lovingly to friends and family as “Mo”, was born October 6, 1933, to James B. (“J.B.”) Cross and Maggie Pankey Cross in Archer City, TX. After graduation from Archer City High School, she began a 32-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.in Wichita Falls. There she began many lifelong friendships. She married Earl Gee (Sr.) there on November 27, 1953, and they built a life of work, laughter and rock-solid love together. Mo and Earl had a son and a daughter who survive them: E. C. Gee of Austin, and Sharon Robinson of Jacksboro. In 1973, Sharon initiated a bond with Mike Robinson who, in 1976, became not only her husband but almost an adopted son to the rest of the family. After Earl’s death in 1974, Mo moved to Arlington TX in 1978, continuing her career with SWBT, and adding to her collection of Bell “girlfriends”. She retired in 1983. In 1996, Mo began a new and exciting chapter in her life, meeting and falling head-over-heels in love with R.N. (“Buddy”) Ramsey of Henderson TX. After a whirlwind courtship, they married and she moved to Henderson, where they were practically “teenagers in love” and were very happy. Following Buddy’s death in 2008, Mo moved to Jacksboro in 2010 to be nearer her family, including her beloved grandchildren, Randi Robinson Lewis and husband Walter of Jacksboro; Rylan Robinson of Wichita Falls; and Reece Robinson of Jacksboro and, more recently, her precious great-grandchildren, Zane Robinson and Merrick Lewis. Mo was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Jacksboro, First Baptist Church in Henderson, and Bethel Assembly of God in Arlington. She was a devoted Christian and a committed prayer warrior, with a daily routine of devotion and prayer for the members of these three different churches’ prayer lists. When in Wichita Falls, she was also a member of First Assembly of God Church, where she dragged her kids every time the doors opened. She loved God with all her heart and knew without doubt where her final home would be. Services to be held 12 noon, Saturday April 20, 2013 at Southwest Baptist Church in Jackboro under the direction of Coker Funeral Home, with burial service at 4pm in Archer City Cemetery among her family and next to the father of her children.
