Ollie Damron Harper

Ollie Kinnard Damron Harper went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 24,2013 at the age of 102 years. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Monday, May 27,2013 Coker Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service . Ollie was born October 7,1910 in Cotton County, Oklahoma to George Martin and Littie Sophronia Robinson Kinnard. The family lived in several places in North Texas and Oklahoma traveling by covered wagon and by train. They finally settled on a farm in Jermyn, Texas near Jacksboro where they finished raising eight children. Ollie married Steward Damron in 1930. They had been married 48 years when he died in 1978. Most of those years were spent in Jack County where they raised five children. Ollie married Ray Harper in 1982 but he only lived five more years. Ollie lived in her house in Jermyn for 42 years before moving to a little house in Jacksboro in 1989. In 1999 she decided to move in to Jacksboro Nursing Center because of her heart condition. Ollie's favorite past time was playing dominoes way into her nineties. She was a whiz at it and could tell you what you should play next to make count. She was a champion 42 player as well at the Jacksboro Senior Citizen's Center. Ollie also made lots of beautiful quilts that her kids and grandkids still enjoy today. Ollie was a longtime member of Jermyn Baptist Church and then joined Live Oak Baptist Church when she moved to Jacksboro. Ollie was preceded in death by her husbands, Steward Damron and Ray Harper. Her brothers O.C. and Orie Kinnard; sisters Opal Easter, Odessa Hodge and Oma Hefner and Great Grandchild, Leslie Joann Ellsworth Hendrick. Ollie is survived by sister, Ophelia Evans; brother Olan Kinnard; all five of her children, S.F. and wife Peggy; Lucille Tipton and husband Neely; Joe and wife Charlotte; David and wife Barbara; Sue Pippin and husband Dennie; grandchildren, Monica Richardson and husband Rick; Angelica Viramontes and husband George; Tish Smith and husband Bryan; Robert Tipton and wife Lezlie; Sheila Carter, Carla Ellsworth; Jody Damron and wife Crystal; Denise Holder; Mark Damron and wife Debbie; Greg Harris; Joanna Tarr and husband Dan; Missy Coufal and husband Tim; Pat Pippin and wife Callie; Dennis Pippin Jr.; 36 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great Great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her.
