Collin Kelly Jackson

March 7, 1942 - April 2, 2022

Collin Kelly Jackson passed away April 2, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1942, to Marvin and Ann Jackson, in Jacksboro, Texas. A visitation will be held from 2 PM- 3:30 PM at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas with a memorial service to follow at 3:30 PM. Collin was raised in the Squaw Mountain area of Jack County and attended Antelope School. He graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1960. He then (left home) attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to begin his career in Aviation as a Corporate Pilot. His first corporate job was interrupted by the Vietnam War as he became a Civilian Military Helicopter Instructor at Fort Walters. Later, he moved to Austin, Texas to fly for then retired Gov. Allen Shivers. Collin eventually retired from Sun Oil Company. Collin married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Jackson, on December 1, 1962. Together, they raised two sons, Paul Jackson and Michael Jackson. Collin was a quiet man who loved the Lord, his family, aviation, airplanes, cows & tractors! He loved plowing fields, watching the dirt turn over, ready for sowing! He will be greatly missed! However, “What God hath joined together no man has put asunder” so we as believers in Jesus Christ will be reunited one day! Collin is preceded in death by his parents Marvin & Ann Jackson, brother Homer Ray Jackson & wife Rita, and nephew, Randy Jackson. He is survived today by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Jackson; sons, Paul Jackson (Kris) of Colleyville, Texas and Squaw Mountain and Michael Jackson (Shannon) of Bedford, Texas and Squaw Mountain; grandchildren, Colten Jackson of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Sydney and Breanna Jackson of Bedford, Texas; nieces, Rhonda Nelson, Starla Holt and Ginger Scruggs; nephew, Dr. Bobby Johnson of Aledo, Texas and Austin, Texas; His best friend and brother-in-law, Bob Johnson of Palestine, Texas and his wife Beverly. Billy Ray Ramsay, Tim Auman, Wayne Kule, Jim Jackson & Johnie Green were counted among his closest friends.
