Marvin Leon Reynolds Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marvin Leon Reynolds Jr. went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the age of 80 years old. He was born on April 21, 1941, in Stoneburg, Texas to Marvin Leon Reynolds Sr. and Annie Mae (Bell). A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, Texas. Burial will take place 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, Texas. Marvin married the love of his life, Charlotte Sue Hankins, on July 9, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas. He was faithful to the vows he made to the Lord-loving Sue unconditionally "til death do we part". Marvin and Sue moved to Jacksboro in 1962 and became faithful members of the First Baptist Church in 1965. Marvin never met a stranger, he loved serving the community of Jacksboro, and those who met him loved him. He was a true jack of all trades, from working at City Cash, Bag and Wag, Geer Tank Trucks and finally owning Marvin's Meat Market, there was not anything he could not fix, repair, or build. Marvin's main priority was taking care of his family and making sure they had everything they ever wanted. Marvin had very little at times but lived as though he had more than anyone. He believed God had blessed him with the greatest family imaginable, beginning with his 4 children Dondi, Tina, Trey, and Cody, and extending to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As stated before, there was nothing he would not do for his family. Many times, when the kids were playing, Marvin would disappear for several minutes, showing back up with a toy he had gone to make in his workshop. Marvin saw every member of his family as the most important and loved every single one without fault. Whether child, grandchild or in-law he loved them just the same, only seeing the good in each and every one. There are many words and ways to describe Marvin, a few being: simple, caring, happy, content, real, and loving. Without intention, Marvin set a very high standard for his family on how to live life. Although they feel they will fall short of that standard, Marvin would have never seen it that way. He will be missed by all and his memories cherished forever. Marvin is preceded in death by his son, Cody Joe Reynolds, and his parents. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Sue Reynolds of Jacksboro; children, Dondi Leonetta Sanders and husband Billy, Tina Tyann Ward and husband Mike, Marvin Leon (Trey) Reynolds III and wife Sandra, all from Jacksboro; grandchildren, Kizzie Sanders-Bogle and husband Ryan, Bo Ward and wife Windi, Chanz Sanders and wife Tyrissa, Blaze Mathis and husband Josh, Bailey Francis and husband Cal, Ranczy Johnson and husband Bubba, Trinity Reynolds, Teagan Reynolds, Tradyn Reynolds, Tessa Reynolds, Dominic & Elijah Marquez and Lana Lopez; great-grandchildren, Macie and Kylie Karnes, Collynz, Eazton, and Steele Sanders, Lilly and Tripp Francis, Bo Monroe and Penn Ward, Tula Belle Mathis and 1 more on the way; siblings, Patricia Richardson, Howard Reynolds, and Roger Reynolds and wife Sandy. Marvin is also survived by many extended family members, close friends, and neighbors.
