Renfro Scarber

March 25, 1932 - December 12, 2016

Vollie Renfro Scarber, 84, of Post Oak went home to be with his Lord, Monday Decemeber 12, 2016. He was born to Norene and Vollie Scarber on March 25, 1932. He attended Midway School; enlisted in the Air Force, being stationed at Lackland AFB and Randolph AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He married his childhood friend, Marilyn Ogle on July 23, 1952. When he got out of the service, he came back home to Post Oak, built their home and went into the ranching business. The family visitation will be at Coker Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral service will be at the Montague Cowboy Church on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1 pm. He was preceded in death by his parents Norene and Vollie Scarber, and daughter Diane Logan. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Post Oak; son Steven of Post Oak; daughter Vicki Thompson and husband John of Bowie, TX; Granddaughter Denisa Moye and husband T J of Decatur, TX; Grandson Eric Thompson of Post Oak; Granddaughter Lisa Lee and husband Eddie of New Boston; Granddaughter Lori Ramos and husband Johnny of Amarillo, TX; Granddaughter Amy Logan of Post Oak; Great Grandchildren are Abbie Lee Jamison and Jaxon Ramos, Coralyn and Vivian Moye and a number of nieces and nephews. If so desired memorials may be given to the Post Oak Cemetery Association.
