Ronnie Burton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronnie Lane Burton was born December 3, 1956 in Plainview, Texas to Franklin Verdell and Janice (Rhodes) Burton. He married Robin Faye Bilby in July of 1992 in Wilson, Texas. Ronnie passed away Tuesday November 10, 2015 at his home in Jacksboro at the age of 58 years. Ronnie worked as an IT director for RGA Homecare. He worked for many years in the cotton ginning industry before completing his educational goals. He also worked for many years at the Lindsey State Jail teaching the inmates how to better their lives. He also taught inmates at the Northfork Correctional Center in Sayre, OK. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who was very proud of his children's accomplishments and would have said that they were his greatest legacy. He will be missed. The only sorrow he ever caused was when he left his family. He is preceded in death by his son Samuel Derek Ragan. Survivors include his wife, Robin Burton of Jacksboro; daughters, TSgt Nichole Chapman of Alexandria, VA; Amanda Burton of San Antonio, TX; Capt Trista Smalenberger of Arlington, VA; Megan Dernaika; son Daniel Ragan and wife Summer of Jacksboro; grandchildren Mia Lane Burton-Sanborn; Adam and Olivia Dernaika; Dustin, Seth, Cheyenne, and Matthew Chapman; parents, Janice and Verdell Burton of Lubbock, TX; brother Lonnie Burton of Plainview, TX; father and mother-in-law Rex and Lucile Bilby; and brother-in-law Chuck Bilby.
