Shirley Ann Romines

April 24, 1939 - April 21, 2022

Shirley Ann Romines passed away on April 21, 2022 in Jacksboro, Texas. She was just 3 days shy of her 83rd birthday. Shirley was born April 24, 1939 to James and Clara (Soots) Pardue in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. She married J.C. Romines on September 5, 1958 in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Ft Bragg Army Base where J.C. was stationed. After leaving North Carolina the couple moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where J.C. began his training as a Texas Game Warden. Eventually the family would make their home in Jacksboro, to raise their children Kellie, Janean, and Daniel. Shirley worked in the business office at the local hospital, they later owned the Kwik Stop Grocery for 10 years. Shirley's greatest gift was the pure, unconditional love for her family. Her encouragement and love brought out the best in all of them. Her greatest joy was being a Mom and a Nana. She was creative and loved crafting, sewing, reading and being outdoors. She also loved to tinker and was fondly known as "Rig-it Romines'' by her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, J.C., daughters Kellie Brown and husband Ray of Jacksboro; Janean Romines and wife Deb Dufficy of Fort Collins, Colorado, and son Daniel Romines of Arlington, Texas and Kim Romines of Jacksboro. Grandchildren Devin Ballard and wife Jessica of Wellington, Texas; Katie Denney and husband Joseph of Gainesville, Texas; Lindsey Gray and husband Blake of Perrin, Texas; Summer and Autumn Romines of Jacksboro, and Micah Lillie of Austin. Great-Grandchildren Jackson Gray, Lydia Gray, Pecos Ballard, Porter Ballard, Hannah Denney, Levi Denney, and Claira Denney. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; James and Clara Pardue, and baby brother Jimmy Pardue. The family would like to send a special thank you to Shirley's precious care takers; Maida Easley, Maria Salazar, Nora Sanders, Amanda Hammons, Callie Pippin and the entire Solaris Hospice staff. In lieu flowers please consider donating to : Gladys Johnson Richie Library 626 W. College Jacksboro, Texas 76458
