Lowell Cooper

Ralph Lowell Cooper of Post Oak went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2008 at his home. Lowell was born on August 24, 1932 in Jack County to Ralph Raymond Cooper and Iva Middlebrooks Cooper. He graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1950 where he participated in track, football, and was voted Senior Class Favorite. He served on Jack County Hospital Board and Jack County Farm Bureau. He worked in the oilfield and retired from Anadarko Oil Company in Jacksboro after 35 years of service. He was a rancher in the Post Oak area until his death and was the owner and operator of Six C Oil. He served 2 years in the United States Army. He was saved at a young age and served his church as Sunday School Teacher, R.A. Director and Deacon. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist in Bowie at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his birth father Ralph Raymond Cooper, his mother Iva Stark and the dad whom he loved and who raised him, Ellis Stark. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Rosemary Simons Cooper, two daughters Pam Wolf and husband David of Graham, Paula Epperson and husband Donnie of Bridgeport; two sons Mark Cooper and wife Tammie of Jacksboro, Michael Cooper and wife Kylia of Ponder; one sister Lilly May West; nine grandchildren Brandon Epperson, Jeremy Epperson and wife Christina, Charis Blassingame and husband Ben, Daniel Spivey and wife Nicole, Amy Hodges and husband Robert, Darin Cooper, Jana Cooper, Caitlyn Cooper , Cameron Cooper, Ricka Messer and husband Dr. George Messer and Amanda Cooper; five great-grandchildren Michala Fenter, Skyler Cooper, Mason Hodges, Seth Spivey and Lauralei Cooper. There will be a visitation at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro on Saturday May 3, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro, Texas on May 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro.
