Robert Fenter

Robert Darrell Fenter was born on December 18, 1936, the 5th of 8 children to Ray S. and Vesta A. (Riggs) Fenter. He grew up in Jacksboro and graduated from Jacksboro High School in May of 1955. He and Lynda Kathryn Gillmore were married August 20, 1955 in Jacksboro. They were married for 53 years. Robert worked in various occupations in the oil field, spending several years working for Anadarko Oil company and later working and retiring from ARCO Pipeline Company a subsidiary of Atlantic Richfield Company. Following retirement he enjoyed trading on the stock market; working in his yard and vegetable garden, his grandchildren and traveling. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Jacksboro. Those that knew Robert knew that he took great pride in his family and enjoyed sspending time with them. Lynda and Robert enjoyed camping and traveling in their travel trailer and seeing much of the United States. They also enjoyed flying and cruising and were able to see Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and Mexico during their travels. But some of their greatest memories were spent camping in Texas with their grandchildren and enjoying the outdoors; and attending various school, sports and musical activities of their grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Mickey, Donald Ray and Russell Fenter. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years Lynda; his four children Mark Fenter and wife Pam of Abilene, Texas, Pam Kingcade and husband Gene of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lisa Deweber and husband Randy of Jacksboro, and David Fenter and wife Helen of Fritch, Texas; his 10 grandchildren Scott Fenter and wife Lara of Spring, Leanne Fenter of Fort Worth, Josh Kingcade and wife Aubrey of Oklahoma City, Reece Kingcade of Wichita Falls, Dana Joy and husband Brandon of Plainview; Audra Deweber of Fort Worth, Daniel Deweber and wife Leigh of Bowie, Tracey Criss of Bremerton, Washington, Derek Hayes and wife Kara of Miami, Texas, Krystle Broom and husband Josh of Borger; his 7 great-grandchildren Madison and Grace Fenter, Brazier and Caden Joy, Cash Hayes, Aspen Broom and Mariah; his two sisters Wanda Thedford of Sanger, Texas and Betty Gustin of Cleburne, Texas; his two brother Lowell Dean Fenter of Perrin, Texas and L. A. "Butch" Fenter of Bowie, Texas; and many other extended family members and friends. Services will be Sunday October 5, 2008 at 3 pm at Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksboro, Texas with his grandson Josh Kingcade officiating. Visitation will be Saturday October 4, 2008 from 6-7 pm at Coker Funeral Home.
